10-Day Greece Travel Itinerary: Athens & Rhodes island
Days 1–4: Athens – Ancient Icons & Local Atmosphere
A few days in the Greek capital set the perfect tone for your journey. With history on every corner, vibrant neighbourhoods to explore, and endless artisan stops along the way, Athens is an ideal first chapter for your spring adventure—and a quintessential destination for first-time visitors. Choose a stay in a central location to soak up the city’s unique ambiance as you stroll its urban landscape with ease.
Day 1
Arrive in Athens and settle into the heart of the city. From Titania Hotel Athens, it’s an easy walk to vibrant squares and hang-out spots like Agias Irinis, perfect for a relaxed first evening with coffee or wine under the city lights. From there, Ermou is not far, it’s an easy walk to reach this high street of Athens and get a feel for the pulse of the city. For designer fashion brands, head over to Kolonaki and Voukourestiou street.
Day 2
Begin your deep dive into history with a visit to the Acropolis, followed by the Acropolis Museum, then wander down to get lost in the colourful alleys of Plaka, and then reach the Ancient Agora. Find your way to Monastiraki Square and its market. Finish off with a stroll around Psirri, one of Athens’ hip districts. A good night’s sleep and a rooftop breakfast with Acropolis views is the perfect fuel.
Day 3
For first-timers, a half-day trip to Cape Sounion offers breathtaking views of the Temple of Poseidon. For first-time visitors, a day trip to Cape Sounion to admire the Temple of Poseidon is a must. It is one of the top locations for sightseeing Athens beyond the city centre. You could also discover a hidden gem, Lake Vouliagmeni, perfect for a refreshing dip in thermal waters. Return in time for a rooftop dinner overlooking the Acropolis against the Athenian skyline.
