The sea and sun have blessed our island, and, as such, it is a popular destination for scuba enthusiasts and those who love getting lost in documentary-worthy visuals. Here are some of the top spots for the most thrilling snorkelling and scuba diving experiences in Rhodes. And it’s no wonder that the first three of the below mentions are also featured in our best beaches in Rhodes

Scuba diving experiences in Rhodes: The top spots

1. Lindos: Lindos is a picturesque town on the east coast of South Rhodes and serves as a great base for diving. St. Paul’s Bay, literally one cove over, is sheltered and a popular spot for both beginners and experienced divers too, due to the diversity of its seabed.

2. Anthony Quinn Bay: Named after the famous actor whose leading role in the film “Guns of Navarone” made it a world-wide sensation, this location offers calm waters that are ideal for beginners. You can explore underwater caves, rock formations, and observe a wide array of fish species going about their merry way.

There is so much of underwater Rhodes to see. It may be that you feel like grabbing a map, making your own itinerary, and discovering any or all of these alone with your dive buddy. Please be sure to take all precautions and follow all diving safety procedures if you do.

Of course, it is always recommended to dive with an experienced local instructor, regardless of your skill level. In that case, you may plan your holidays with us and book our scuba diving experience, under ‘Sea Activities’.  For those visiting with children, our ‘Marine Sealife Excursion’ is a great option. It is both an educational and interactive experience, taking place at the natural Marine Park of Blutopia in Kameiros Skala. There you will be able to see dolphins bouncing along the surface of the open sea, swim among thousands of fish, and learn all about the local marine ecosystem.
